feel welcomed, known, and loved!

Your kindness helps churches create friendly places where people can grow in faith, make friends, and experience belonging through Friendship Groups.

Nurturing Faith

Many people with disabilities want to understand God better, but finding Bible study material that meets their needs is difficult. FMC creates Bible study curriculum and other faith-based resources designed with them in mind. Your support can show people with disabilities that their faith matters!

Building Friendships

Your faithful giving allows for the creation of volunteer-led Friendship Groups in faith communities across Canada. These groups bring together individuals with disabilities, volunteers, and faith mentors to build strong, meaningful relationships.
You can ensure people feel welcomed, known, and loved!

Fostering Belonging

There is a place for everyone in God’s family! Your generosity supports welcoming spaces in churches and providing opportunities for people of all abilities to learn, share their gifts, and belong in the body of Christ!

Growing in Faith

Friendship Group Bible studies offer an organized approach for individuals with disabilities to deepen their faith, explore spiritual ideas, and strengthen their relationship with God.

Sharing Gifts

Being part of a Friendship Group can help people with disabilities become more involved in their faith communities through leading songs, sharing ideas, and participating in service projects. We all have something to share and learn from each other!

Finding Purpose

Participating in a Friendship Group can help individuals with disabilities discover meaning and purpose as they explore God’s vision for community. It's a space where Friends connect with others who share their faith, helping to overcome feelings of isolation and loneliness.

“I gain immense pleasure and reassurance from seeing my daughter get excited for Friendship. The joy she has from belonging to this wonderful program is evident throughout the week that follows. She brings Friendship up in conversation, recalls the Bible lesson and prays for her Friends. This is HER group!”

“Friendship is probably one of the most loved ministries in our church. Our Friends that come are incredible people who offer love and friendship in such an unconditional way. I can have the worst week, but the moment our Friends arrive on Thursday nights, everything else is forgotten.”

“We don’t really see ourselves as Friends and Mentors. It’s more like a small group where we really care and support each other. It’s a place where everyone knows they belong and are accepted.”

“Our Friends bring so much joy and we are blessed every week by them. They’re real. They encourage each other and don’t judge. Friendship is the most joyful ministry in our Church!”
